When I came across this Salt-Powered Robot kit on Amazon. I knew my kindergartner would be excited to build him. She is fascinated by robots and I had recently shown her the movie “Short Circuit” and this cool little robot looks like a mini-me of “Johnny 5”!
My daughter and her Uncle built this little robot together, he was fairly easy to assemble and best of all he works! The robot is powered by the chemical reaction of saltwater and charcoal! Add the saltwater drops and off he goes! He is a fun little educational toy as it teaches children, robotics, mechanical principles, engineering, the value of alternative energy sources and creativity.
Note: This kit is recommended for ages 8 years and up, for a child to build independently.
This is SO cool! I love robots and to think you can make one using salt to power it is just amazing. What age group do you think this is recommended for? And is it expensive? Thanks!
