Check out this lovely wooden spool, that was transformed into a flower garden display! I am in a group on Facebook called “Thrift Store and Garage Sale Up-Cycling Projects” I seen a post by Kathy Scott of Hardin, Texas. She said, “Old spool.. some paint and time … this is the end result..š” Kathy said she used”acrylic indoor / outdoor (paint) the 50 cent bottles you can get from Walmart.. before paint I used Thompson water sealer and polyurethane (on top) so it don’t wash off when it rains” Kathy also added “I didn’t know how it would turn out but I was very pleased with the out come.. I am in love with it..”
I am absolutely in love with it too Kathy and your creativity, this old wooden spool has been given a new life! Not only does it hold plants, its a beautiful conversation art piece for her garden …. Thank you Kathy, for allowing me to share your lovely garden project with my readers!
Great idea on painting a board to set your flowers on. I love the wooden spool idea. At first I was like, do I even have one of those?! Then I remembered there is one in our basement that we used to have a long cord wrapped around. I might just get it out and see what I come up with!
