With the virus and flu going around, we have been discussing germs. For this simple experiment, all you need is water, pepper & soap! When the “germ” water is first touched, the “germs” attach to the fingers, hands cleaned by soap keeps the germs away!
How fitting for these kids who are growing up in corona virus times! This looks really simple to do but has a very effective and powerful message. Love it.
Yes it is an effective experiment with a powerful message! Thank you 🙂
As a nurse, I am always trying to teach my kids about germs! This is a perfect way to clearly illustrate it 🙂 Even before the coronavirus, I was preaching “WASH YOUR HANDS” all the time, lol.
Thank you for reading my blog post. It’s an honor this experiment is nurse approved <3
I’ve been trying to talk with my daughter about all the invisible germs everywhere.
Hopefully this will give her a better perspective.
Ha, WOW I had no idea the water, pepper and soap would do this…. I guess you learn something new everyday, even when you are a parent! Writing this one down to do with my youngest this week, she’s kind of a germophobe already, she will get a kick out of this.
Amazing right?! Your sweet germophobe will enjoy for sure! 🙂
We played this for my girls. We are always trying to stress the importance of washing your hands, especially before you eat or if you touch your face. Now we are extra cautious due to covid.
I hope it helped them understand how important washing hands is 🙂
Very useful experiment, please post more related to germs 😀
I’m happy you found it useful, I do have another I want to post 🙂 Please subscribe to my email!
This will make such an impact on young ones to wash those hands !! <3 😀 :*
Thank you for your comment Sarah… I do hope so 🙂
This article is great! This experiment really helped my child grasp the concept of germs!
So happy to hear this! This experiment is so simple, yet makes so much sense to young children.
I like this, easy and makes sense to kids.
